| Exchange-traded US index equity funds seek to track the performance of specific industry sectors or broad market indexes for the US market by investing primarily in the constituent equity securities of those indexes. Exchange-traded equity funds offer investors an opportunity to add exposure to individual industry sectors such as utilities, banks or software companies, or to broad market indexes, such as the Standard & Poor’s 500 or the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Index ETFs that are registered investment companies may sometimes deviate from the exact holdings of their related index. Please see "Legal Structures" above for a discussion.
